Permanent Makeup (PMU) is a cosmetic procedure that involves tattooing pigment onto the skin to enhance facial features like eyebrows, eyeliner, and lips. PMU is often referred to as "micropigmentation" and is a great option for those looking for long-lasting makeup solutions.
-
The longevity of PMU varies depending on the type of service and individual factors such as skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. Typically:
Eyebrows: 1-3 years
Eyeliner: 1-3 years
Lip Blush: 1-3 years Regular touch-ups are recommended to maintain the desired appearance.
-
You’re likely a good candidate if:
You’re 18 years or older
You’re not pregnant or breastfeeding
You’re in generally good health
You want to enhance features like brows, lips, or eyeliner
You don’t have any major skin conditions in the treatment area
You may need a doctor’s clearance or may not be eligible if you have:
A history of keloids or hypertrophic scarring
Skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, or dermatitis near the treatment area
Bleeding disorders or you’re on blood thinners
Uncontrolled diabetes
Autoimmune conditions (consultation required)
Heart conditions or pacemakers
Recent chemotherapy or radiation treatment
Allergies to pigments, lidocaine, or topical anesthetics
PMU is not recommended if you are:
Pregnant or nursing
Under 18 years old
Have an active skin infection or cold sore in the treatment area
Recently had Botox or fillers in the treatment area (wait at least 2-3 weeks)
Taking Accutane (must be off for at least 6-12 months before PMU)
Had recent chemical peels, microneedling, or laser treatments (wait 2-4 weeks)
-
Most clients report minimal discomfort during PMU procedures. We use a topical numbing cream to ensure comfort during the process. Sensitivity levels vary from person to person, but the procedure is generally well-tolerated.
Pre/After Care

Pre/After Care ~
-
To ensure the best results, please follow these guidelines before your appointment. Proper pre-care directly affects how your skin retains pigment and heals.
1 Week Before
Avoid facial treatments (chemical peels, microdermabrasion, microneedling, etc.)
Stop using retinol, AHA/BHA acids, or exfoliants near the brow area
Avoid excessive sun exposure or tanning
48–72 Hours Before
Do not consume alcohol, caffeine, or energy drinks
Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, or vitamin E (these thin the blood)
Refrain from waxing, threading, or tinting the brows
24 Hours Before
Avoid heavy sweating or intense workouts
Drink plenty of water to keep skin hydrated
Get a good night’s sleep — well-rested skin heals best
Day of Appointment
Arrive with a clean, makeup-free face (especially around the brows)
Avoid moisturizer or SPF in the brow area
Eat a light meal beforehand to avoid lightheadedness
Wear something comfy — your appointment may take 2–3 hours
Important Notes
If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or on certain medications (like Accutane), PMU may not be right for you at this time. Please consult in advance.
If you've had previous brow work done, a consultation is required prior to booking.

Proper healing is just as important as the procedure itself. Follow these aftercare instructions closely to protect your new brows and ensure optimal results.
First 7–10 Days
Keep the brows dry. No water, sweat, steam, or excessive moisture.
Do not pick, rub, or scratch. Let scabs flake off naturally to avoid pigment loss.
Avoid skincare products on the brow area (especially exfoliants, acids, or oils).
No makeup on or around the brows while healing.
Apply aftercare ointment as directed — typically 1–2x daily using clean hands or a cotton swab. Use a rice grain amount.
What to Expect
Day 1–2: Brows may look bold or darker than expected (normal!)
Day 3–5: Light flaking or scabbing begins — do not touch
Day 6–10: Brows appear lighter or patchy — pigment will gradually resurface
Week 4–6: Full healing and final color reveal
For 2 Weeks
No saunas, swimming, facials, or heavy sweating
Avoid direct sunlight or tanning beds
Don’t apply brow serums, retinols, or actives until fully healed
